Case Study 1: Consolidating Legacy data with Oracle APEX

Client: National Energy company

Challenge:

The client had a legacy system of spreadsheets and Access databases running a mission critical dataset with limited technical support and frequent duplication of data in numerous places.

Solution:

  • Developed a web-based application suite using Oracle APEX, enabling access from any device in the company.
  • Integrated and consolidated Oracle Database for better data management and security. All duplication was removed in the new system and a “single version of the truth” was created.
  • Built custom dashboards and reports for real-time engineering insights.
  • Implemented role-based access control (RBAC) to enhance data security.

Case Study 2: Data migration of Missions Critical database

Client: Sky UK

Challenge:

The migration of customer subscription data from an older system to the internal database was required with no downtime allowable.

Solution:

  • Over 4 million customer records were migrated in a staged fashion depending their demographics.
  • The source system was a MongoDB database and the target system was an internal Oracle database.
  • Because there was no native tool available to migrate the data, I was able to write a php application which accessed a web service on the MongoDB side and streamed data to an Oracle staging table.
  • The data was then cleansed and populated to the target Oracle database.

Client: Major Defence Organisation

Challenge:

Development and Upgrade of existing system with new workflow. The existing workflow tool was “Out of Support”.

Solution:

  • Application was upgraded to new version of APEX
  • Workflow features were upgraded to new support format.
  • UI/UX design was significantly upgraded.

Case Study 4: Sports Event registration website

Client: National sporting event committee – https://x-lakes.uk/

Challenge:

The client had no web presence and required to have online registration and participant details recorded for safety and general administration.

Solution:

  • Create and design the website in WordPress with WooCommerce for a scalable e-commerce solution.
  • Used performance optimization techniques (caching, CDN integration, image optimization) to improve load speed.
  • Designed a responsive and SEO-friendly theme to enhance user experience.
  • Integrated third-party payment gateways and a CRM for better customer management.
  • Implemented security measures, including SSL, firewalls, and regular backups.
